Research Focus

My research focuses on modulating the microcirculation and microenvironment for local drug delivery, reoxygenation, and immune activation in tumors or organs using multifunctional nano- or microbubbles activated by focused ultrasound.

5-year review
In previous studies by me and my team, the optimal fabrication and initial biosafety of oxygen-loaded nano- and microbubbles have been demonstrated to release oxygen locally in vitro and in vivo when triggered by focused ultrasound. The reoxygenation and mechanical massage induced by these bubbles resulted in murine tumor vascular normalization, further modifying the tumor microenvironment, promoting drug penetration, activating anti-tumor immunity, and enhancing therapeutic efficacy. Moreover, vasodilation and reduced inflammatory responses in the murine ischemic vessel model have also been shown to promote vessel repair.
 
Short-term goals
In the coming years, my team and I will demonstrate the biomechanisms of tumor or organ microenvironment modulation induced by oxygen-loaded nano- or microbubble that are activated by focused ultrasound. We will provide sufficient and reliable evidence for the biosafety and therapeutic value of oxygen-loaded bubble applications to support their transfer and expansion into clinical research.

Teaching Course

生醫影像概論

大3-研究所 (3學分,中文授課)

對非醫學背景的學生所設計,介紹臨床上醫學影像的基本原理與概略的判讀方式,包含一般X光、電腦斷層、乳房攝影、磁振造影、心血管攝影、超音波、核子醫學,並探討生醫影像於實驗動物上的應用與未來發展。

 

課程安排許多小組活動,評量方式為期中跑台考試與期末小劇場表演。

Medical Ultrasound

Undergraduate, master, and PhD students (3 credits,in English)

The basic knowledge and technological applications of medical ultrasound in clinical diagnosis, therapy, and future development are introduced.

​實驗數據分析與統整

大3-研究所 (3學分,中文授課)

課程著重在教授研究生所需具備之實驗資料分析與統整技術,包含研究論文資料搜尋與應用,數據類型分析,生物統計實作,統計軟體介紹與應用,並將數據以圖表報告方式呈現。課程以實作為主,學生將實際使用統計軟體進行數據統整與分析。

 

需自備筆記型電腦用於課堂實作,期末海報展示。
